Bozeman Blitzz - Youth Recreational & Competitive Soccer
The Most Wanted Soccer Gear

Club Overview

The Bozeman Blitzz Futbol Club aims to provide the highest quality soccer experience to children from ages 5 to 19. For the youngest children, the Micro Recreational Program focuses on fun. With small-sided teams, parent coaches, and colored uniforms, the players have a ball while beginning to learn the game. The Academy Developmental Program helps children ages 9-11 shift from recreational to more competitive play, with an emphasis on teaching players fundamental individual skills. The Competitive Program for youth ages 12-19 emphasizes team and individual skills, very high levels of fitness, meeting one's potential, and the value of good sportsmanship. During the winter when our fields are snow-covered, our players from ages 10 and up can refine their touch on the ball, stay fit, and have lots of fun in our indoor Futsal Program. Summer camps provide further opportunity to build skills.

The club is fortunate to have an outstanding coaching staff. The club technical director oversees all of our programs. He coordinates the curriculum among programs to provide a seamless soccer experience from age 5 to 19. He carefully selects coaches for each age level, often placing our very best coaches with the young developmental players.

The players and coaches are supported by a small professional staff and a large number of volunteer parents. In addition to the technical director and coaches, the paid staff includes head administrators for the Competitive and Academy Developmental Programs, an administrator for the Micro Recreational Program, and a treasurer. Volunteer parents serve as members of the nine-person board of directors, committee members, team managers, referees, field marshals, and in many other supportive roles. The club policies are dedicated to safety, fairness, sportsmanship, transparency, and accountability for players and parents.

In total, the Blitzz approach to youth soccer has been highly successful. The club has been stable for more than 25 years. The number of players has grown rapidly in recent years and now includes more than 1400 recreational players and 260 competitive players. We have produced many Montana State champion teams, many successful high school and college players, and perhaps most importantly, won several regional sportsmanship awards. The club is also good for parents. Many of us have come to love the game of soccer, gained unforgettable family memories, and developed life-long friendships with other parents.
