Futsal Tournament Schedule
Program OverviewFutsal is an indoor version of soccer played on a hard surface. Teams have five players including a goalkeeper. Futsal is also played with a smaller ball with less bounce than a regulation soccer ball. The rules create an emphasis on improvisation, creativity and technique, as well as ball control and passing in small spaces.
Bozeman Blittz offers two indoor soccer programs, fall and winter. The fall program runs from November until Christmas break and provides the opportunity for kids to play pickup soccer with their peers twice a week. Teams are formed from the kids present. The winter program runs from early January to early March. Teams are formed within each age group and play once or twice a week. For both programs, a referee provides oversight and reminds the kids to make substitutions and rotate players every two minutes. This ensures equal playing time for all players.
The 5v5 format, fast surface, and small space creates more touches of the ball for each player. Kids learn to play the ball with all parts of their feet, make quick turns, and pass in tight spaces. Minimal supervision provides the low pressure environment kids need to simply play. Parents are welcome to attend games and applaud good play. CoachesThe Indoor Futsal program runs without specific coaches for the teams, however we do need parent volunteers to help organize the teams and to serve as referees.
